“The warm light of wood is like honey in the sun: simple, sincere, and alive”
The iconostasis for the church in the village of Bolonya is a creative work by the Pivtorak & Company workshop. It is made of light oak with a honey tone without gilding on the carving, so all the expressiveness relies on the wood itself and the skill of the carver. The iconostasis is installed on a raised solea, and in natural daylight, the warm tone of the oak sounds particularly beautiful against the backdrop of the church's white walls.
🍯 Honey Tone Light oak without gilding | 🥚 Oval Medallions On the Royal Gates | 🖼️ Icons in the Base Small images in the lower panels |
The Royal Gates feature two large oval medallions with images of the Annunciation, beneath which are four smaller round medallions. Around the medallions is delicate floral carving.
The Side Rows on either side of the gates consist of icons of the Mother of God with the Child and Christ with the Gospel, followed by images of archangels and saints, including Saint Nicholas. The icons stand in arched niches between carved columns.
The Festive Row stretches above the side rows. In the center above the gates is the “Last Supper” in a figurative cartouche, and above it is another icon in a carved frame.
The Finish consists of three carved pediments with crosses: one central and two side ones, and at the edges of the iconostasis stand two more crosses.
The Base Panels have a unique feature, uncommon for iconostases: they contain small icons, so images are present even at the base level.
The cost is calculated by area: from 38,025 UAH per 1 m², the final amount depends on the dimensions and complexity of the composition. The manufacturing period is 2 months, depending on complexity.
