“The trident and the cross in one gate — faith and native land, standing side by side before the altar”
This iconostasis was made by Pivtorak & Company for the church in the village of Lisky. It is crafted from alder without gilding on the carving: the attention is drawn to the deep relief, the warm dark tone of the wood, and the golden background of the icons. The main feature is the Royal Gates, whose lacework forms the silhouette of a trident crowned with a cross.

About the Product
Royal Gates are made with through carving. Their central motif forms the silhouette of a trident, above which rises a cross, and in the lacework are medallions with icons. The gates combine church symbolism with national elements, becoming the semantic center of the entire wall.
Noble Row on both sides of the gates features icons of the Mother of God with the Child and Christ with the Gospel, with images of archangels at the edges. Each icon stands in an arched niche with carved framing.
Columns between the sections are covered with deep floral carving and topped with figurative capitals. Arches and a carved cornice run above the sections, and at the bottom, the iconostasis rests on a base with carved panels.
The cost is calculated by area: from 29,250 UAH per 1 m², the final amount depends on the dimensions of the altar wall. The production time is 2 months, depending on complexity.

Advantages of the Material
- Alder with a fine even texture allows for cutting through lacework of the gates without chipping on thin crossbars.
- Deep relief on the alder holds its shape well, so the shadows in the carving of the columns remain sharp.
- Toning lays evenly on the alder and gives the wood a noble dark shade.
- Absence of gilding keeps the focus on the carving itself and the icons of the noble row.
Traditions of Sacred Wood Carving
Ukrainian carvers have long known how to do without gold, solving the iconostasis with the very plasticity of the wood. Pivtorak & Company continues this line: in the gates for Lisky, traditional church carving is combined with the state emblem, and thus the theme resonates in the church, close to every Ukrainian community today.
Care

- Avoid wet cleaning and aggressive furniture cleaners.
- Do not place heaters close to the iconostasis.
