The oak grows for centuries to then serve the temple for centuries.

The handmade oak tabernacle, or kiot, is an altar item in which the Holy Gifts are stored. The product is made in solid oak or alder wood, available in two sizes: 55x55x105 cm and 75x75x120 cm. The size and color are agreed upon with the customer to ensure that the kiot harmoniously complements the altar and iconostasis of a specific temple.

Purpose of the product

The kiot is installed in the altar and serves as a place for the respectful storage of the consecrated Gifts, particularly for the communion of the sick. This is why the craftsmen approach its production with special responsibility: a stable structure, careful execution of every detail, and a restrained form that does not distract from the sanctuary. The workshop accepts orders for kiots for parish churches and monasteries, and also considers the production of other church furniture items according to the wishes of the community.

Traditions of production

Each kiot is handmade by the craftsmen of the creative workshop of sacred products PIVTORAK & COMPANY in Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region. The Kosiv region has long been famous for its wood craftsmen, and this heritage is felt in the careful attention to each product for the temple. Before starting work, the craftsmen agree with the customer on the type of wood, size, and color to ensure that the finished kiot organically fits into the altar space.

Care

• Place the product away from damp walls and drafts.
• Protect the surface from prolonged direct sunlight.
• Do not place the kiot near radiators, heaters, or open flames.
• Occasionally treat the wood with a wood furniture care product.
• For cleaning, use a dry or slightly damp soft cloth, without aggressive chemicals.
