The Ark of the Covenant made of alder with golden reliefs of the Almighty and the Chalice

I am the vine, and you are the branches: these words come to life in the carving that wraps around each column.

The altar-ciborium made of alder is designed in the shape of a church with five domes crowned with octagonal crosses. The doors feature a gilded relief image of Christ the Almighty with the Gospel, a gilded Cup is carved on the side, and twisted columns are entwined with a golden vine that continues onto the carved base. The gilded details harmoniously blend with the warm hue of the wood. Two sizes are available: 55x55x105 cm and 75x75x120 cm.

About the product

The ciborium, or altar repository, is intended for the respectful storage of the Holy Gifts on the altar. The symbolism of this model combines two main themes: the image of Christ the Almighty with the open Gospel reminds us of the Word, while the Cup and vine indicate the Eucharist, as wine becomes the Blood of Christ in the sacrament. The five-dome shape of the temple, where the central dome symbolizes Christ and the four smaller ones represent the evangelists, completes the theological concept of the product.

Manufacturing traditions

The ciborium is handcrafted by the masters of the creative workshop of sacred products PIVTORAK & COMPANY in Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Special attention is given to the twisted columns with the vine: the spiral of the column and the clusters of grapes are carved from a single piece, so that the vine seems to grow together with the wood. The relief of the Almighty is worked on the longest, as the face must be expressive and calm. In the final stage, the masters cover the reliefs, vine, and ornament with gold.

Care

• Protect the product from moisture, condensation, and sharp temperature changes.
• Do not place near heaters and do not leave under direct sunlight.
• Dust from the clusters of grapes and recesses of the carving should be removed with a soft brush.
• Gilded reliefs should be wiped only with a dry soft cloth, without water or cleaning agents.
• Do not use aggressive chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials.
