“White is the color of Resurrection, gold is the light that never fades”
The white altar and iconostasis set made of alder with gilding is created for bright, festively decorated altars. The white covering of the base emphasizes the golden carvings: twisted columns, openwork frames, a frieze under the tabletop, and relief images. The set includes an altar measuring 140 x 140 x 105 cm and an iconostasis measuring 55 x 55 x 105 cm, handcrafted in a single style.

About the Product
Each side of the altar features a gilded relief panel in an openwork frame of lush curls, behind which a white carved lattice peeks through, adding lightness to the walls. The corner columns are entwined with a gilded floral ornament, and the wide frieze under the tabletop repeats the same motifs. The iconostasis in the shape of a temple with domes and crosses has white walls, golden domes, and relief images on the facades. The equal ratio of white and gold on both pieces makes the set a cohesive accent in the altar.

Advantages of the Material
- Alder has a dense surface without large pores, so the white coating lies evenly on it, without the texture showing through.
- Flexibility of the wood allows for deep cuts of openwork curls and lush leaves on the columns.
- Gilding on a white background looks especially bright and makes the relief noticeable from afar.
- Light weight of alder makes transportation and installation of both pieces easier.
Traditions of White and Gold Decoration
The set is made by the masters of the creative workshop of sacred products PIVTORAK & COMPANY in Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region. The combination of white and gold has long been used for Easter and festive altars, as white symbolizes purity and Resurrection, while gold symbolizes Divine glory. First, the masters carve all the details from alder, then cover the base in white, and gild the relief by hand.
Care
- Wipe white surfaces with a soft cloth slightly dampened with clean water, and dry immediately.
- Clean gilded elements only with a dry soft brush.
- Do not place candles and lamps close to the products to avoid soot on the white.
- Protect the set from moisture, heaters, and direct sunlight.
- Repair chips in the white coating or gilding only by professionals.
