“The apostles stand in pairs, just as they were sent: so that no word remains without a witness”
The iconostasis for the church in the village of Kosivska Polyana is a creative work by the workshop Pivtorak & Company. It is made of natural oak without gilding: the warm tone of the wood, calm arched forms, and restrained carving create a space where the icons remain the main focus. The bright images in a modern iconographic style contrast beautifully with the deep color of the oak.

About the Product
The composition is built like an arcade: each icon stands in its own semicircular niche, and sections are divided by columns with vertical carved ornamentation. Above the Royal Gates rises the highest arch with the icon of the “Last Supper”.
The Royal Gates have an arched top with a cross above. On the doors are placed tall images of the Annunciation, and below are smaller icons.
The Deacon's Row unites icons of the Mother of God with the Child and Christ with the Gospel, images of archangels on the deacon's doors, St. Nicholas, and the church icon.
The Upper Row consists of icons, each depicting two apostles. This approach makes the row compact yet expressive.
The base panels are decorated with carved circles featuring geometric ornamentation, which gives the iconostasis a calm, balanced rhythm.
The cost is calculated by area: from 38,025 UAH per 1 m², the final amount depends on the size and complexity of the composition. The production time is 2 months, depending on complexity.

Advantages of the Material
- Oak is one of the strongest species, so the iconostasis will retain its shape and appearance for decades.
- Natural texture of oak fibers is well read on the smooth surfaces of arches and frames.
- Wood hardness maintains the clarity of the geometric ornamentation in the base and on the columns.
- Resistance to moisture fluctuations is important for a wide structure with many sections.
Creative Approach of the Workshop
In Kosivska Polyana, Pivtorak & Company chose the path of simplicity: instead of lavish lacework — clean lines of arches, instead of gold — the noble tone of oak. The paired images of apostles in the upper row and geometric rosettes in the base became authorial solutions that give the iconostasis a recognizable character.
Care
- Dust off with a soft brush, paying attention to the recesses of the carving.
- Wipe smooth surfaces with a dry cotton cloth.
- Do not use water, alcohol, or silicone polishes.

- Trust the masters with updating the protective coating.
