Almond wood casket with gilding, handmade from Kosiv

The light of gold on the altar reminds us of the everlasting Light that is among us.

The gilded tabernacle made of alder is handcrafted for the respectful storage of the Holy Gifts in the altar. The wooden structure made of alder is complemented by gilding, and the color of the product is agreed upon with the customer individually, so that the tabernacle harmoniously matches the iconostasis and altar. Two sizes are available: 55x55x105 cm and 75x75x120 cm.

Purpose of the product

The tabernacle is one of the most important items of altar furnishings: it stores the consecrated Gifts, particularly for the communion of the sick and infirm. The gilded elements emphasize special reverence for the sanctuary and distinguish the tabernacle on the altar. The product is made to specific order, so the parish chooses the size and color that best match the altar's decoration.

Manufacturing traditions

The tabernacle is handcrafted by the masters of the creative workshop of sacred products PIVTORAK & COMPANY in the town of Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Each order begins with a conversation with the parish: the masters agree on the size and color, considering the appearance of the altar and iconostasis. Then, the structure is formed from alder, and the selected elements are covered with gilding so that the finished product occupies its rightful place in the altar.

Care

• Avoid excessive humidity in the altar and sharp temperature fluctuations.
• Do not place the product near heaters and under direct sunlight.
• Clean gilded surfaces only with a dry soft cloth or soft brush.
• Do not use water, alcohol solutions, or abrasive agents on the gilding.
• Periodically treat non-gilded wooden areas with wood care products.
