“Layer by layer — like stairs, by which the saints lead the gaze from the earth to the sky”
This monumental iconostasis was crafted by Pivtorak & Company for the church in the village of Laskivtsi. It fills the entire altar arch from the floor to the vault and consists of several tiers of icons. The frame made of alder has a warm walnut tone, while all the carvings — columns, consoles, the lace of the gates, and the framing — are executed in ivory color. In the center of the composition, a large arch with medallion icons opens up, leading the gaze to the altar.

About the product
The Deacon's row consists of icons of the Mother of God with the Child and Christ with the Gospel, images of saints, archangels on the deacon's gates, and the church icon. Each icon stands in an arched frame with a carved pediment between cream twisted columns.
The Royal Gates are shaped like a cross, formed by carved strips in ivory color. They contain four round medallions with evangelists, and in the arched finish — images of the Annunciation.
The Central Arch above the Royal Gates is framed by a row of icons in round medallions, and at its peak, there is a festive composition.
The Upper Tiers on either side of the arch consist of icons of saints in arched niches, a row of icons with paired images of apostles, and round medallions above them. Above the center rises a tall icon in a carved frame, crowned with a cross.
The Base Panels are decorated with cream carved cartouches, and the columns rest on figured consoles.
The cost is calculated by area: from 29,250 UAH per 1 m², the final amount depends on the dimensions and complexity of the composition. The production time is 2 months, depending on complexity.

Advantages of the material
- Alder allows for carving dense lace of gates and pediments with clear details.
- The light weight of the wood is critical for a multi-tiered structure, whose upper tiers should not overload the base.
- Even texture well accepts both walnut toning of the frame and light covering of the carving.
- Two-color solution makes each tier readable even from the far end of the church.
Traditions of multi-tiered iconostasis
