The woven Hutsul kraika is a traditional element of folk art from the western Ukrainian Carpathian regions, particularly Hutsulshchyna. The kraika is a narrow strip of fabric made from natural fibers (wool or linen) using hand weaving.
It is characterized by bright colors and various patterns that often reflect folk motifs, nature, and ethnic symbols. Typically, these patterns consist of geometric shapes and stylized images of plants.
It is used both as a clothing element (for belts, women's skirts) and in decor (as framing for windows, doors, or for interior design).
Weavers of Hutsul kraikas usually adhere to ancient traditions, passing their skills from generation to generation, which makes this textile product a unique and authentic part of Ukrainian cultural heritage.
The kraika is woven for embroidered shirts and sashes. Handcrafted, weaving, using natural wool or acrylic threads. Width is 7 cm, length is custom. Orders start from 10 m.
