The Hutsul keptar “Chichkatyi” is a sleeveless fur coat that has been used by the population of the Carpathians and Pre-Carpathians since ancient times. It is made from cashmere and decorated with colored leather, wool, tin circles, ear of corn cotton cord, and fur.

The keptar has significant local variability regarding length and decoration techniques. It is characterized by symmetrical placement of decor with a preference for geometric ornamentation. The styles include Kosiv, Kosmach, Verkhovyna, and Nadvirna.
