Kephtar is a sleeveless fur coat that has been used by the population of the Carpathians and Precarpathia since ancient times. It is made from sheep leather and decorated with colored leather, wool, tin circles, ear of corn cotton cord, and fur.

Kephtar has significant local variability in terms of length and decoration techniques. It is characterized by symmetrical placement of decor with a preference for geometric patterns. In terms of decoration, it is divided into Kosiv, Kosmach, Verkhovyna, and Nadvirna styles.
