It is made from sheep skin and decorated with colored leather, wool, tin discs, corn cotton cord, and fur. The kephtar has significant local variability in terms of length and design techniques. It is characterized by symmetrical placement of decor with a preference for geometric patterns. The decoration is classified into Kosiv, Kosmach, Verkhovyna, and Nadvirna styles.
