Kephtar is a sleeveless fur coat that has been used by the population of the Carpathians and Precarpathia since ancient times. It is made from sheep leather and decorated with colored leather, wool, tin discs, earthen cotton cord, and fur.

Kephtar has significant local variability in terms of length and design techniques. It is characterized by symmetrical placement of decor with a preference for geometric patterns. By their nature, the decorations are divided into Kosiv, Kosmach, Verkhovyna, and Nadvirna styles.
