Zghardy are one of the oldest chest ornaments of the Hutsuls. Tectonically, it is a complex compositional system that combines one or several rhythmically-plastic rows of various solar signs, strung on "retizky," straps, etc., placed at a distance from each other by "perelyzhok" and connected by "chepragy." The compositional center often features a larger equilateral cross that unites all the others, sometimes progressively smaller crosses.
