The chest decoration "Zgarda 017" is one of the oldest Hutsul chest ornaments, made of brass using casting and engraving techniques. The composition combines rhythmic rows of solar signs that symbolize a connection to ancient tradition.

About the Product

Zgardas are among the oldest Hutsul chest ornaments. In compositional terms, it is a complex system that combines one or more rhythmic-plastic rows of various solar signs, strung on "chains," straps, etc., placed at a distance from each other with "perelyzhoks" and connected with "cheprags." The compositional center is often a larger equilateral cross that unites all the others, sometimes smaller crosses.
