“Sit down, rest — the mountains won’t run away.” This is how the Hutsuls invited a guest to sit on a warm bench after a long journey in the mountains.
The “Mountain Rest” throw is a woolen product from the “Hutsul Bedspread” workshop, created to transform an ordinary bench or chair into a place you want to return to after a long day. The dense hand weaving adds warmth and coziness to the furniture, while the traditional ornament gives it a recognizable Hutsul character.

At the core — the wool of sheep grazing on the Carpathian meadows. It is washed, dried, and carded with a special comb until it becomes a fluffy ball, after which it is twisted into threads and woven on a traditional loom. The finished product undergoes felting in a “valily” — a wooden tub where a stream of water falls under pressure: after a few hours of rotation, the product becomes tight and fluffy. Finally, the throw is dried on sticks and brushed to fluff the wool.
According to the traditional ornament, an experienced eye could recognize in which village the bedspread was made — in Yavoriv, for example, they weave crooked, parquet, rainbow, and plum patterns, each with its own story.
Regular airing in fresh air and vacuuming at low power keep the wool fluffy. In case of contamination — dry cleaning or careful hand washing in cool water with a delicate wool detergent, without wringing.
