The base of each blanket is the wool of Carpathian sheep, which is washed, dried, and combed with a comb until fluffy, and then twisted into threads for the loom. The finished fabric is immersed in "valylo" — there, a powerful stream of water rotates the fabric for several hours, making it tight and dense. This ancient stage distinguishes a true Hutsul blanket from factory textiles.
