The necklace “Sea Eye” is an exclusive author’s work from the Mosyazhna workshop in Kosiv. Each bead made of Murano glass is painted with hot enamel minankari in the form of marine “eyes” — blue, white, and green concentric circles, reminiscent of both the high mountain Carpathian lake and the ancient Mediterranean amulet against the evil eye.

“Sea Eye” in Ukrainian mountain tradition is a poetic name for high mountain lakes, in which the sky is reflected so that the bottom cannot be seen. Such lakes have long been considered magical places: vows were left on the shores, coins were thrown into the water for good luck, and water was taken for healing rituals.
At the same time, the same image — concentric blue circles resembling an eye — is known in Mediterranean cultures (Greece, Turkey, the Balkans) as nazar — an amulet against the evil eye. It was worn by sailors, hung over cradles, and given to newlyweds at weddings.
In the “Sea Eye” necklace, both traditions meet: the Hutsul poetics of mountain lakes and the Mediterranean amulet power. Therefore, it is not just a decoration — it is a reminder-amulet worn “for the soul and for protection.”
🔵 Murano glass (Venice). The most famous artistic glass in the world, made on the island of Murano since the 13th century. Each bead has a unique internal structure with veins and shimmering — no wonder Murano glass has been considered equivalent to precious stones for centuries.
🟢 Hot enamel minankari. A Persian technique of firing powdered enamel at temperatures up to 800 °C. The enamel transforms into a glass-like surface of deep, rich color that does not fade for decades. It is the minankari that gives the necklace that signature “light” depth of the “sea eyes.”
🟡 Cast brass “Pandora” (Italy). A hypoallergenic alloy of copper and zinc without nickel, cadmium, and lead. Solid cast, without cheap galvanic coating that wears off over time.
⚫ Jewelry rubber. A flexible, soft cord that comfortably lies on the neck, does not hinder movement, and withstands the weight of glass beads.
🔵 Deep blue — like the water of a Carpathian lake in the evening, when the twilight sky is reflected in it.

The patterns on the beads resemble seaweed or circles on the water after a stone is thrown — each bead is a miniature illustration of the movement of water.
