“Where the goat walks, there will be a path to the mountains.”
The pendant “Goat” is constructed as a strict frontal sign: the head of the animal, elongated downwards, and two high ribbed horns rising upwards, like mountain peaks. A narrow band of ornament cuts across the muzzle from forehead to chin, and below, under the sharp beard, hangs a small bell. The decoration is cast from brass “Pandora” and resembles ancient Hutsul metal signs, where the animal was depicted not realistically, but through a few expressive lines.

Material and Manufacturing
The pendant is made by casting from Italian brass “Pandora” in a solid form, without a galvanic layer on top. The surface you see is the alloy itself, so the relief does not lose clarity from friction against clothing.
The composition is symmetrical. The horizontal ears are bordered by a fine dotted border, above the eyes are corner signs, and in the center of the forehead is a rosette in a circle. From the bridge of the nose downwards goes a zigzag, followed by a row of dots and a small circle near the nostrils. The beard tapers to a point, and it is to this point that the bell is attached. Between the horns is an elongated loop with a ball on top, through which a cord or chain is threaded.
The model is an author's piece, brand “Brass Workshop,” protected by copyright.

Advantages of the Material
- Homogeneous alloy. The brass is uniform throughout its thickness, so even after years of wear, no other metal will show through under the thin layer.
- Clear relief. Casting brass “Pandora” fills the mold well, and the smallest dots of the border remain expressive.
- Living patina. Over time, the metal naturally darkens in the recesses, which only emphasizes the ornament.
- Easy to restore shine. The convex parts regain their luster after being rubbed with a dense cloth.
Traditions and Modernity
Hutsul brasswork has given the world zghards, shelests, and cheprags — decorations in which metal not only adorned but also “spoke” with signs. The Brass Workshop in Kosiv translates this language into modern forms, preserving the main elements: a concise silhouette, geometric ornament, and the sound of metal in motion.
The goat in folk culture is one of the central characters of the winter rounds, when carolers “lead the goat” with wishes for harvest and prosperity. The pendant “Goat” transfers this image from ritual masks to a chest decoration, and the bell under the beard refers to the sounds accompanying the holiday.
Care
- Keep the pendant in a soft pouch or box to prevent the horns from scratching other jewelry.
- Avoid contact with perfumes, creams, and salty water.
- For shine, wipe the convex parts with a piece of denim or felt.
- Do not clean the product with acidic agents — they make the color of the brass uneven.
