Our workshop — Hutsul, handmade crosses - 4 page
We are from Kosiv — a small town where wood carving is passed down not from books, but from hand to hand, from father to son, from master to apprentice. It is here, in a small workshop, that our crosses are born.
We make each product ourselves, by hand — without mass production and haste. We choose well-seasoned wood, carving patterns using the technique of dry carving, which has been known and preserved here in Hutsulshchyna for generations. We add a metal crucifix to the cross — as has been done for ages, as a symbol of Orthodox faith and protection of the home.
It takes about 10 days to make one cross — as long as it takes to do everything right, without compromises. For us, this is not just an order, but a continuation of the tradition that we have inherited from the older masters of Kosivshchyna and which we want to share further.
Each cross that comes from our hands carries a piece of this land — Hutsulshchyna — and a piece of the faith with which we approach it.
