It is necessary to measure the size of a leg in a standing position as under the influence of weight its length is bigger.

Draw a pencil on a piece of paper and measure the length of the imprint between the extreme point of the heel and the longest toe. The most important sign that you have chosen the right size is when the shoes do not press and fit snugly to the foot. Shoes should not fall off the heel. In Ukraine, a metric system is used, where the size of children's shoes is equal to the length of the foot in centimeters. The interval between adjacent sizes is 0.5 cm.

For imported children's shoes, the size is most often indicated in the bayonet system - the length of the heel in the bayonets (1 bay = 2/3 cm) .

The insole always has a margin of 0.5 cm, so the length of the insole, for example, in shoes of size 20 will be 13 cm. A margin larger than 1 cm is not recommended (except for winter shoes, where up to 1.5 cm of margin is allowed). Therefore, shoes of size 20 will fit on a leg of 12 - 12.5 cm (free half a centimeter is required!)
