The cross is made of wood using the “dry” carving technique—one of the oldest methods of decoration, characteristic of the masters of the Kosiv region. The central part is adorned with a carved image of the Crucifixion of Christ, and around it are symmetrically arranged rows of round medallions with eight-pointed rosettes—a traditional Hutsul symbol of the sun. The shape of the product is compact, with rounded ends of each ray of the cross, giving it a recognizable “carved” silhouette.
