The cross with star-shaped medallions carries a whole little constellation: four star-shaped discs at the ends of the arms and one more in the center of the intersection. Together, they transform the cross into a kind of map of the sky, carved in wood.

At each of the four ends of the cross is a round eight-pointed star medallion, and another, larger one is carved in the center of the intersection. The vertical shaft is bordered with a fine pearl string, and the short arms are decorated with a diagonal checkered pattern. The wide handle smoothly narrows down to a small pointed end. There is no figure in the composition; the emphasis is entirely on the star geometry.
